Gas Hot Water Heaters

Everyone expects to get hot water when you get into the shower in the morning. When the time comes for that unit to be replaced, Recker and Boerger will be there to help. In most cases we can have a new tank installed the same day you place an order. We install professional grade high efficiency AO Smith water heaters that carry 6 years parts & tank warranty. We carry water heaters on our installation trucks and our installation professionals can install same day in an emergency for you.

What's included in your Gas Water Heater Installation

• Amy will call you the night before and give you a 3 hour installation window. Our installers will call you an hour before when they are on the way.
• Complete pre-installation survey to determine if any additional work is required to meet local codes or address safety issues.
• Draining and removal of the old tank, we must have a working floor drain within 24 feet of the tank to do this.
• Install up to 2 feet of cooper water lines from your new heater to your existing copper water lines.
• Leak check all water connections.
• Reconnect to your existing gas line. We will provide up to 2 feet of gas pipe at no additional charge, however, your gas shut-off must be fully functional and leak free or it will have to be replaced at an additional charge.
• Leak check all new gas connections.
• Connect to your existing galvanized flue pipe. We will replace up to one elbow fitting and 2 feet of flue pipe at no additional charge.
• Replace your existing temperature and pressure relief valve as well as the relief tube.
• Fill the tank and check for operation. It is the homeowners responsibility to increase the water temperature if the factory setting proves too cool.
• Sweep clean the work area and haul away all debris including the old tank.

Additional Charges that may apply to Gas Water Heaters

• Replace your gas shut-off – If your existing gas shut-off leaks or doesn’t shut-off the gas, it must be replaced. We will have to turn off the gas at the meter to do this.
• Replace more than 2 feet of gas pipe – If you have leaking gas pipe, the leaks must be fixed!
• Replace the flue pipe – The flue pipe has to be in good condition – it must be safe. Added Price - $25.00 – Includes up to 2 elbows and 6’ of Pipe.
• Expansion Tank – If the water pressure in your home is over 75 PSIG or you have a pressure reducing valve, an expansion tank must be installed. An expansion tank will be required if you live in Butler county.
• Pressure Reducing Valve – If you have a pressure reducing valve and your pressure is still over 150 PSIG, it needs to be replaced!
• Drain Pan if required by your county code will be added for $50.
• Saturday installation.
